In the 1970s, Josef and Brigitte Fux ran a small apartment at the current location, Mannagasse 2.
In 1997, their uncle sold the nearby land, so the sons, Alex and Michael Fux, decided at their young ages of 24 and 30 years to go all in with entrepreneurship to become hotel owners.
Working on their own construction, getting their hands dirty, the sons learned from scratch from their father, or as we say in Bavaria: “ma muas scho wissn wia ma an Nogl grod neihaut.” The two finished the construction and had a grand opening of the hotel in 2000 for the start of the Passionplay 2000.
Mother Brigitte was the good soul of the house, serving a great breakfast and keeping up with the news for the guests every morning. Father Josef was the creative mind, taking care of the art, style, and flowers of the house. The two sons shared the work of office and repair jobs at the hotel.

In 2007, mother Brigitte passed away (way too early), so everything changed and has remained that way to this day. Michael took over the lead, together with his wife Melanie and their two sons, Sebastian and Lukas.
In 2011, an add-on came into play: the Apartmenthouse at Schnitzlergasse 9, next door. As a great addition to the Hotel House, the Schnitzlergasse House brings a children’s playroom, sauna/spa, garage, and e-fuel station into play.
The Fuxis have welcomed our guests for three generations or as we say:
